    Come out for SD Audubon's Bird Fest Family days. This family friendly day is packed with fun events for kids and adults alike that have everything to do with birding and our local habitats. The Raptor Institute will be presenting some local raptor species at 2:30 that will give you a chance to meet and learn about some of the amazing aerial predators that call San Diego home.

    Description:

    The Raptor Institute will be partnering with San Diego Audubon to present and in depth Raptor Identification workshop. Learn to find and identify raptors in the field through this two part course with one day of classroom instruction and one day in the field. Participants will learn the skills necessary to ID the over 30 species of raptors found throughout San Diego County, and also get the chance to meet some of our most common raptors up close and personal.

  • Living with Animals

    Description:

    Come check out the Museum of Man's newest exhibit titled "Living with Animals". This exhibit delves into the ways humans and animals have coexisted over the course of history. The Raptor Institute will be giving a series of presentations showcasing our native raptors and explaining their importance here in San Diego. We'll also talk about how humans and raptors have coexisted in the past and present through the art of falconry. We'll be doing a series of presentations on Saturdays starting in May and running through August. Each one will be different so bring the family and spend a fun day at Balboa Park while learning about local wildlife.
