    Torrey Pines State Reserve will be celebrating Earth Day at their lovely location on the cliffs above the Pacific Ocean. The Raptor Institute will be there with our educational ambassadors teaching the public all about our amazing local raptor species. There will be other fun activities and events for the whole family, so come on out and enjoy a day in honor of our amazing planet!

    Come out to Buena Vista Lagoon for their open house and celebration of Endangered Species Day. The Raptor Institute will be sharing some local San Diego raptors for everyone to meet and learn about up close and personal. There will be other fun activities for the whole family to enjoy, so bring the kids and enjoy a day at your local wetlands!

  • Living with Animals

    Description:

    Come check out the Museum of Man's newest exhibit titled "Living with Animals". This exhibit delves into the ways humans and animals have coexisted over the course of history. The Raptor Institute will be giving a series of presentations showcasing our native raptors and explaining their importance here in San Diego. We'll also talk about how humans and raptors have coexisted in the past and present through the art of falconry. We'll be doing a series of presentations on Saturdays starting in May and running through August. Each one will be different so bring the family and spend a fun day at Balboa Park while learning about local wildlife.

  • Animal Helpers Badge Workshop

    Learn about the many ways raptors have helped humans throughout history while earningyour Animal Helpers Badge. Scouts will have the opportunity to meet several trainedraptors, while learning about the history of falconry and how trained raptors have beenutilized by people in the past as well as present.

  • Raptor Researcher Patch Workshop

    Description:

    Let the Raptor Institute guide your girl scouts through the process of earning a unique
    Raptor Researcher patch. Scouts will learn about the different raptor species found
    throughout San Diego County, while meeting these raptors up close and personal. This
    workshop will focus on identifying local raptors, learning about their biology, adaptations, and importance of conservation. Scouts will learn what they can do to appreciate and protect the habitats that these amazing birds call home. They will leave with a new respect for local wildlife and their very own Raptor Researcher patch.
